External walling for hot rolled steel & concrete mainframes

Also known as continuous walling, oversail light steel framing provides an efficient and cost-effective solution for creating external wall envelopes for hot-rolled steel and reinforced concrete main framed buildings. The system extends/oversails beyond the edge of the primary structure, using engineered brackets or cleats to maximise internal floor area while accommodating variations in slab or frame edge tolerances.

Designed and manufactured for precision, our continuous walling systems are engineered to resist façade wind loads, support their own weight and carry a wide range of lightweight cladding systems. Offsite manufactured for rapid installation, they deliver an accurate, durable and thermally efficient external envelope, making them an ideal solution for multi-storey residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. Frameclad has successfully delivered continuous walling systems on numerous projects across the UK.

Benefits in Brief
  • High Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Delivers exceptional structural performance

  • Precision Manufactured: Factory-produced for consistent quality and dimensional accuracy

  • Fast and Efficient: Speeds up programme delivery with offsite manufactured components

  • Ideal for Restricted Sites: Thanks to lightweight components and ease of handling

  • Supplied Just-in-Time: Sections can be barcoded and delivered floor-by-floor

  • Non-Combustible: Suitable for buildings over 18m when used with non-combustible boarding and insulation

  • Continuous Thermal Envelope: Oversailing the primary structure helps minimise thermal bridging and improve building fabric performance

  • Robust and Durable: Resistant to rot, warping and pests, unlike timber frame

  • Dimensionally Stable: Maintains alignment and facade tolerances throughout the life of the building

  • Available in a Range of Gauges and Profiles: Engineered to meet project-specific structural and architectural requirements

  • Sustainable: Manufactured from steel containing a minimum of 60% recycled content and is 100% recyclable at end of life

  • Certified Quality: BOPAS accredited and ISO certified manufacturing standard
