Our 14 strong highly knowledgeable in-house design and engineering team provide cost estimates within 10 days and detailed designs within one week.

Our design and engineering services exploit advanced software that is fully BIM compliant. We require a complete set of architectural sections, elevations, plans and details in both DWG and PDF formats. Additionally if available, we would appreciate receiving a 3D model of the primary structure in either .IFC or .DB1 file formats.

Design Services Include:

  • Custom Design Solutions: We provide bespoke light steel frame designs that optimise space, functionality and aesthetics. Whether you need residential or commercial solutions, we can design a structure that suits your vision and budget.
  • Structural Calculations: A full set of calculations, sections and details are provided along with elevations and plans that show every light steel frame element within the building.
  • Tender Stage Submissions: We can carry out technical appraisals to include an indicative mark-up based on architectural details and facade design together with identifying the loadbearing elements incorporated within the design.
  • Construction Drawings: Frameclad can design bespoke systems, sections and fabrications. Providing cost effective solutions unique to meet the site restrictions and conditions, full detailed drawings are supplied to support the construction process.
  • Durability and Strength: Our steel framing systems offer superior strength and resilience, reducing maintenance and ensuring our structures withstand the test of time and environmental conditions.

When all comments have been included and agreed, drawings are signed off to ‘construction status’. The next design phase is to extract full digital production information to drive the manufacturing operation. In close collaboration with the project team, construction drawings are provided for approval, revised and then issued as a construction pack to the installer.

Depending on the project size, our design process takes two – six weeks to produce construction drawings, with BIM models available on request.
